Chicken Pox!!!

17th April, 2011

Couldn't believe that I could get chicken pox at such age. Thought I am already free from chicken pox but to my dismay, this whole two weeks was a suffer for me. My advice for everyone, better get it when you were young rather than having it when you are an adult.

Last night, I was started to feel different. I felt a terrible headache and backache before I went to sleep. I have an instinct that I was going to be sick soon. At first, I thought it was only normal sickness such as fever or what. But on the next day, I am starting to feel so cold and slowly I found out that there were rashes on my face. And slowly I saw blisters were grown on the rashes. Something is not right, my instinct told me that this is not ordinary fever. So I quickly verified the symptom with my mom and she told me exactly what I was having now. She advised me to see the doctor immediately.

The next day, I went to see the doctor early in the morning. The doctor has examined the blisters and confirmed that it is really chicken pox. I was so worried then because I am still having a newborn baby with me. The doctor advised me that if possible get someone to take care of the baby for me as it is quite suffering for a newborn baby to get chicken pox. But now we are still not sure whether Kelson has already gotten the virus from me or not. I was given some medication to relief the chicken pox and it costs me around RM100 for all those.

Being back home, the symptom of the chicken pox are becoming more and more serious. I am starting to have high fever. The pox are getting more and more, on my face, body, scalp and even in my mouth and ear too. I am starting to feel so suffering and couldn't even take care of my baby anymore. My hubby and mom-in-law has helped me to take care of Kelson.

This condition has continued for at least three days. I couldn't remember what I have done this three days but mostly I was sleeping, sleeping and sleeping. The pox has finally grown on my hands and legs too. But it wasn't as much as it was on my face. All the pox were so itchy and painful too. How I wish they could disappeared soon. It was still not totally dried up till now. I have to be quarantined for at least two weeks. Oh, hopefully it won't leave scars on my face.....Wanna have a look at how ugly I am with the pox? This is how it is......

Meet Up with my Mom

30th March, 2011

My Mom came back to Miri from KL on 28th March till 30th March. Too bad I can only managed to meet up with her on the 30th March. With a little baby now, it is not convenient to go anywhere anymore. Luckily, I could take a day leave as a full time mother and meet up with my mom. Feeling so happy today! Met my mom at Yakin Coffee Shop then brought her for a walk at Parkson Shopping Mall. After that, went to have red bean soup around town. Then went to my auntie house before sending my mom to the airport. Miss my mom so much.....

Kelson's Full Moon Day

27th March, 2011

Today is Kelson's full moon day. We are having a party at our house. Inviting friends and family to our house for dinner. Thank you everyone for coming and thank you for those who gave present to our Kelson.

Kelson on his big day

Presents for Kelson

Kelson 0 - 1 month

Wonder how much grown up my Kelson is? When he was born, he was only 3.15kg but now at the age of one month, he is already 5kg. Can you imagine that? I think it's because he is a big-eater. One month baby drinks 4 ounces of milk every 3 to 4 hours time. But I remembered last time, Kelven also like this before. That's why they are brothers. Do they look alike too? Haha.....

My Hubby 33rd Birthday

14th March, 2011

This year, I couldn't really celebrate my hubby birthday with him since I am still in my confinement period. But the only thing I managed to buy him as present is to order pizza delivery as a surprise for him. Luckily my best friend from Sibu knew how much I would like to buy a cake for him. She has bought him a cake as present for my hubby. Thanks, Hui Tze for your help to make his day does really look like a birth day. Finally, this night, Kelven and I sang birthday song to him, he blew his candles and cut his cake in our bedroom since I couldn't go anywhere. Happy 33rd Birthday, Hubby!

My Confinement Month

27th February, 2011 - 27th March, 2011

This one month is the most suffering month I ever had. As you know, when you are on confinement, you have to take good rest, to recharge your body and energy after the delivery for at least one month. Luckily this time, we did hired a confinement lady to help to take care of the baby and me. It costs us around RM2,500 for it. So I could take good rest without doing much on my own. Well, during this one month, I have spent all of my time in my room only, lying on the bed, playing with my iphone. I was then served with three meals a day, breakfast, lunch and dinner. But i was so tired of the food being served as it was the same food all the way. Kacama, Egg, chicken, herbal chicken soup, mee sua, 猪肚 and 猪腰. Mostly is cooked with wine and ginger. Only on the third week, I can start eating vegetables.

I remembered I have eaten kacama for the first three days of confinement. Then we have to go for checking at the policlinic after three days of delivery. To our dismay, Kelson was examined of having jaundice. So the doctor had advised, it is better to stop eating wine and ginger since I am breastfeeding. Well then I stop having food with wine and ginger. Just having those herbal chicken soup for almost two weeks. Luckily, the rate for the jaundice has dropped once I stopped eating those wine and ginger. Starting from the third week, I have started eating wine and ginger again, since we think it is ok for me to eat already but to our dismay, we still find Kelson look yellowish on his skin. So we went to the policlinic again for checking. In the end, found that his jaundice rate did drop but very slow.

Then the doctor said they have to take Kelson blood to examine to check whether his blood or his liver got problem. They made it so serious till we are so worried about his jaundice condition. So we went for the blood test, but when the nurse tried to take the blood from Kelson, they couldn't managed to get blood from him because his blood nerve is too tiny and they couldn't see it at all. Poor Kelson has been crying till his face turn black because they have been using the jab to try to get the blood from him once but unsuccessful and those stupid nurse has been pressing his poor little hand till it turn black, 黑青 already. They wanted to try the second time, but my hubby and I couldn't bear to see him being hurt again, further our confidents towards the nurse is now zero so we refused to let them to do the test anymore. We left the clinic and went to the private clinic instead. Luckily the private clinic doctor said it is normal that a baby still had jaundice after four weeks since he is having breast milk. It will normally goes off around a month till two month. Well, finally we can let our worries down. In the end, I gave up breast feeding and start formula milk after this one month and Kelson does not look yellowish anymore.

Another thing that I hate about confinement is we couldn't take bath during this period of time, even if you can, you have to use those herbal type of water which is brown/black color to take bath. But no washing hair at all for this one month, which irritates me so much because my hair was so oily and the scalp is itchy like hell. Further, you have to wrap your body all over tightly so that the wind wouldn't get into you. Then, you will be sweating like hell too and no bath. Can you imagine that? Luckily that period of time has already ended. If you asked me whether I want another child more? Well, my answer to you is NO, since the whole pregnancy, delivery and confinement period is so much suffering actually. Have to think twice if you really want to have a baby.

One Week before Delivery

Wonder how I look like one week before delivery? Here is how I look! Wow, see how fat am I. Now I have already weight around 83kg!!!

This is how I look when I had Kelven six year ago. Same weight 83kg and the same maternity dress too. But of course, more younger. Haha......

Happy Valentine's Day 2011

14th February, 2011

Happy Valentine's Day!

This year Valentine's Day was a surprise for me. My hubby has surprised me with Valentine's flower and bear. I was still in the middle of my sleep when i realised he has just came back and secretly put the flower and bear on a chair in our room. How sweet of him! Then he said he actually wanted to surprise me the next morning but I have accidentally caught him doing that in the middle of the night. Haha...... Well, on this day, we spend our night having steamboat dinner at Shabu Shabu Restaurant. Hmmm......Yummy!

Oh Yeah! My baby didn't come out to this world today. Not as expected. Well, I guess I have to be patient then to wait for him to choose his birthday.

Upcoming Delivery

11th February, 2011

Just a few days before the Valentines Day, we went for checking at the private clinic which specialize in maternity. We wanted to know how is the condition of the baby as we have not been scanning the baby for quite a few months. Well, to our surprise, the baby's weight has increase to estimated 2.8kg now and the doctor said the baby might be weight around 3.0+kg during birth. At this time, we can finally see the baby clearly as before we have been to another clinic which is not specializing in maternity. The scanning devices was very blur, can't really see the baby clearly. And the funny thing is, we both actually hoping that our baby will come to the world on valentine's day. As all our birthday falls on 14th, we wished that this baby will come on the same day too. (My hubby's birthday on 14th March, mine on 14th July and Kelven on 14th November). The days are getting nearer and nearer, and my swollen are getting worst. I feel that I am becoming like a water balloon. Wish, wish, wish that the baby will come out soon.

Happy Chinese new year 2011

3rd February, 2011

Happy Chinese new year everyone!

This year is the most boring chinese new year I had. My mom and sis are not coming back this year and even my best friend is not coming back too. So this year I spent most of the time at home. Doing nothing much, just watching tv, eat those new year stuff, and just wait for the time to passed by.

Further, this year I am celebrating the Chinese new year with a big belly, so it would be quite inconvenience for me to go around everywhere easily. Didn't took much photos during this chinese new year. Some snapshots at the Miri City Fan when we went for a walk during the Chinese new year.

We bought a lion dance for Kelven as he said he wanted to play it together with his little brother next time.

This year, we also bought those "孔明灯" and light it and let it flew to the sky. They said you can make wishes before you light it and flew it.

On the Chinese new year eve, I was scheduled to go for checking at the policlinic to see the doctor. So wake up quite early on this day and make my way to the clinic on time. Too bad there are too many people going for checking on that day. I had to spent two hours waiting to see the doctor, waiting for my turn. Finally it is my turn, I was called into the room and the doctor had done scanning of my baby. The good news is my baby's head has already heading down so I could give birth by natural birth and estimated weigh of my baby is around 2.3kg. I was so surprise that my baby is only weigh that much as I found out that my own weight had increase a lot this few months. Now I am already 78.9kg, almost 80kg. How could the baby still so small? Maybe all the nutrient has been absorb by me not the baby. Hopefully when he is born, the weight will increase more a bit because I heard it is pretty hard to care baby with the weigh 2.3kg only. Oh yeah, so now I am like being in standby mode for delivery, the doctor said once I feel stomachache then I can immediately go to the hospital delivery. So quite nervous and scared too because delivery time is getting nearer and nearer. Wish everything would be just fine...

Happy Gawai Celebration

22nd May, 2026 Yvonne’s school is having a gawai celebration today.
