Baby Yvonne Follow Up Checkup

22nd May, 2023

Today we brought baby Yvonne for follow up plus x-ray checkup for her fractured left hand bone. Luckily doctor said her bones are growing back just the narrow bone needs time to get back straight. So she also doesn't need to wear any supports for her hands anymore. She can freely move her hands now. Thanks God for the blessing and pray for baby Yvonne fully recovery soon.

Happy Mother's Day to me and all moms around the world! This year we just celebrate it in a simple way. The kids bought me a cake and we had takeaway Sugarbun as dinner.

Today is also our 18th Wedding anniversary so just celebrate it together then. I just wish all my kids to be healthy and happy forever. I also wish that my love with my hubby will be forever.

An Unexpected Accident

7th May, 2023

Today we all spend our night at our old house because it is our day to be in charge of my parents in law. Tonight around 11pm something, all of us getting ready to sleep since tomorrow we need to go to work and school. As usual we turned off the lights and lay on the bed.

Baby Yvonne is still very active, she climbed down from our bed and went to her brothers bedroom. Kelven and Kelson was somewhere outside the room. Then kelson went into the bedroom realising that her sister is at his bedside. Feeling excited to play with baby Yvonne, he kinda run and jump onto his bed without realising that Baby Yvonne has already been climbing to his bed. Kelson accidentally stepped on baby Yvonne left arm then baby Yvonne starting to cry loudly.

My hubby and I rushed to the room and check out the condition and find out that Baby Yvonne both arms looks different from the outside. He said her arm bone is fractured and need to be sent to the hospital immediately. So we go to the nearest hospital near our house, Columbia Asia Hospital.

Once we reached there, it was around 11.30pm, we went to see doctor. Baby Yvonne was being treated with painkiller and a cloth sling to support her hand first. She was crying and screaming for the whole process. Also being adviced to do the x-ray first. Because it was quite late night, the person in charge for x-ray need to come back to hospital in a while. So we waited and waited until the person in charge came to do the x-ray for baby Yvonne. Baby Yvonne was crying and screaming again for the x-ray process. After the x-ray, we still need to wait for the report to be out. Once the report has been out, it was confirmed that Baby Yvonne has fractured two bones on her left arm.

After confirmation of fractured arms, but to our dismay, their orthopaedic is not around for that moment and they couldn't even contact the doctor at all. So the doctor helped us to call around all the hospital in miri (BMC, KPJ, MCMC) to get assistant to treat my baby Yvonne.

Managed to get Dr. Tan from BMC, advised the columbia hospital doctor to do half plastered for the arms and come to his clinic the next morning to checkup. But to our dismay again, the columbia asia hospital got this policy that the doctor couldn't do this procedure unless is being accepted by the orthopaedic of the hospital. So meaning baby Yvonne cannot be treated at this hospital at all. We are feeling so dissqpointed and look for other options. Asking the doctor to help calling other hospital to get assistant.

But unluckily, no one is available or willing to come for treatment immediately. Then the doctor helped us to call General Hospital and said there is doctor available there. So we went to General Hospital around 1.30am. Then we do registration procedure and were being asked to wait in front of room 1. Been waiting for almost 2 hours, there were no doctor or anybody attend to us. Furthermore there were lots of other patience outside the room waiting to be treated.

In the end we give up waiting and went back to Columbia Hospital to ask if we can get admitted to the hospital immediately and just wait for their orthopaedic to come the next day to treat her. But again feeling disappointed, we were being rejected again due to their policy again. Said because their orthopaedic didn't accept us, they couldn't admit us in. Then the doctor again said he can only help us till then, he tried to call the GH doctor to attend to us immediately and refer to GH again.

But we don't feel like going back to GH again and plan to try our luck at BMC. Reaching BMC around 3.30pm, then being directed to the emergency department. After registration, finally baby Yvonne was being treated with half plastered. Again baby Yvonne cried and scream again during the process. Thanks God and we went back home for a little rest before coming back to BMC again in the morning. We reached home around 5am. Finally Baby Yvonne can have a good sleep.

After we get a rest, we get back to BMC to see their orthopaedic, Dr Tan. Doctor said baby Yvonne doesn't need to do any operation for it because she is still very young, the bone will slowly grow back itself and get connected itself. So he just helped her to do full plasters of her arms and asked us to come back for follow up checkup and x-ray after 2 weeks. Again baby Yvonne cried and scream during the process. So hopefully baby Yvonne can get well soon.

Pity my little girl, to be suffered with such pain at this age. Mommy wish that you recovered soon and be healthy.
